PDP Demands Court to Disqualify Kwara Governor for Certificate Forgery

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has demanded the Federal High Court to Disqualify Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State and the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the 2023 governorship election for certificate forgery. The party filed a suit FHC/ABJ/CS/1324/2022 by its lawyer, Paul Erokoro, SAN, urging the court to direct the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify Abdulrazaq. Corps Member Jailed Two Years for Sex Scam

A High Court in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, yesterday sentenced a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Oyeyemi Caleb to two years in prison. Oyeyemi, serving in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, was jailed for sex scam. Officials of Ilorin zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Oyeyemi (21) on March 16, 2020 based on intelligence reports. Oyeyemi allegedly posed as a white lady, an online sex worker, to defraud one Wilson (a white man) of $100 in order to offer him sex. He was arraigned on November 26, 2020, and pleaded guilty when the counts were read to him. Justice Adenike Akinpelu sentenced him to one year imprisonment with an option of fine of N200,000 on each count.

Kwara Gov Commiserates with Emir of Gwanara Over Wife’s Death

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday commiserated with the Emir of Gwanara, Alhaji Idris Sabi Kotokotogi, over the death of his wife, Hajia Hadizat. Hadjia Hadizat died on Sunday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital following a brief illness.
