The Texas board of nursing has pressed charges against some nurses for reportedly obtaining educational credentials deceitfully in the United States. One Million Africans May Die Of Cancer By 2030 – WHO

Dr Matshidisco Moeti, the World Health Organisation, WHO, Regional Director for Africa, expressed fear that cancer mortality may rise to about one million deaths per year by 2030 in Africa if urgent actions and interventions are not undertaken. Moeti said that an estimated 1.1 million new cancer cases are recorded every year in Africa, with about 700,000 deaths. She disclosed this in a message to mark the 2023 World Cancer Day. A total of 439 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates failed the assessment examination organised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). The MDCN conducted the two-day assessment examination on November 23 and 24, 2022, at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto. This was stated by Dr Tijani Sanusi, the council’s Registrar, in an interview with Punch on Sunday.
