Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr has expressed optimism that the presence of former Super Eagles Forward, Odion Ighalo would have improved the finishing of young strikers such as Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho. Ighalo called it quits on his time with the Super Eagles after the 2019 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, where the team won the bronze medal after defeating Tunisia in the Third-Place match. Rohr Applauds Musa’s Kano Pillars Move

Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has expressed delight with the return of team captain, Ahmed Musa to NPFL side, Kano Pillars, saying the move afford him match fitness. Musa has been without a club since parting ways with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in October last year and he has now agreed on a deal that will keep him at Kano Pillars till at least the end of the current season. Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa has rejoined Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, club Kano Pillars until the end of the 2020/2021 football season. A statement by the office of the chairman of the club, Surajo Shuaibu Jambul, disclosed that an agreement has been reached between both parties. Manchester City and Algerian winger Mahrez has bettered Kelechi Iheanacho and other nominees to claim the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month for March. Mahrez was announced as the winner on the PFA’s verified Twitter handle. Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Manchester United on loan forward Jesse Lingard were among the list of shortlisted players for the award. 2022 World Cup: Super Eagles Confirm Qualifying Dates

The dates for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been confirmed. The Super Eagles media officer, Babfemi Raji, confirmed the dates for the qualifiers which commence in June 2020. Nigeria is drawn in Group C, alongside Cape Verde, Liberia and the Central Africa Republic. The three-time AFCON winners will begin the qualifiers with a home fixture against Liberia which is fixed between 5 – 8 June. Their next qualifier is an away tie against Cape Verde with the date set for 11 – 14 June. The Eagles will host the Central Africa Republic on matchday three and the date is set for 1 – 4 September while the reverse fixture which will be in Central Africa Republic will be 5 -7 September.
