The National Examination Council (NECO) has announced the postponement of the ongoing Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination indefinitely. Head, Information and Public Relations Division, NECO, Azeez Sani, announced the development in a statement released on Sunday. “In making this decision, the board noted that due to these security challenges: a. #ENDSARS: Oyo Schools Forced to Close as Protests Continue

Most public and private schools in Oyo state have suspended academic activities as at Tuesday morning, African News Today observed. Although there has not been any official by the State Government over the closing of schools, most private schools said the decision was taken as a result of the hardship students experienced by students due to the #EndSARS protest in major parts of the state on Monday. Most proprietors maintained that the safety and security of the children is paramount while the protests last informed the decision. NECO Reschedules Exam Due to #EndSARS Blockade  

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced postponement of the Paper 1 Computer Studies Practical scheduled to take play on today due to blockade occasioned by the persistent #EndSARS protest. The examination body said the paper has now be rescheduled to take place on November 16.   The Federal Government on Thursday announced the re-opening of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps across the country. The Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare made the announcement via Twitter adding that the orientation camps are scheduled for reopening on November 10. “The Resumption of the NYSC Orientation Camp for prospective Youth Corpers has been approved and opens on November 10th, 2020. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), accused the Federal Government of engaging in blackmail of its workers into enrolling on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS). Dr Austen Sado, Chairman of the University of Port Harcourt Branch of ASUU, on Sunday said members of the union will not be pushed into enrolling on IPPIS despite some of its members not being paid salaries since February.
