Three officers of the Delta State Police Command have been shot dead, with their corpses set on fire. The officers attached to Umutu Divisional Police Headquarters were killed at a checkpoint along the Obeti/Oliogo Road in Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state. Police Arrest 64 in Delta Brothel Raids

Police in Delta say they have arrested 64 suspects in raids on brothels and uncompleted buildings in Asaba, the state capital, in a bid to contain an upsurge in cult wars. Spokesman Bright Edafe, in a statement on Wednesday, said the arrest was the result of the Command’s proactive measures to checkmate the activities of criminals in the state. Edafe said the arrest was the effort of a joint patrol team comprising Division’s A’, ‘B’ in Asaba which have been raiding black spots and criminals’ hideouts, including uncompleted buildings and brothels. Bright said arrested suspects have been charged to court.
