Armed Robbers Attack Corpers Lodge, Injure Six

No fewer than six serving corps members were injured as armed robbers attacked their lodge and cart away valuables in Osun State. The Nation gathered that the incident happened on Saturday around 4am at the Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) lodge at Dada Estate in Osogbo where corps members are residing. A source told our correspondent that the armed robbers numbering about eight forcefully entered the lodge and threatened to kill anyone who refuses to lay down his or her valuables. The Lagos State Police Command has released the father of a 21-year-old student of the University of Lagos, who allegedly stabbed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, to death. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu, told newsmen that the suspect’s father and one Nkechi Mogbo, have been released on bail. Men of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested the father Chidinma Ojukwu, who allegedly stabbed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, to death. Robbers Attack Commercial Banks, Police Station in Osun State

Two commercial banks and police stations were on Wednesday attacked by armed robbers in Apomu and Ikire towns in Osun state. During the attack, it was learnt many people were shot dead by the robbers, even though the state police command said the number of casualty was not available. The robbers were said to have entered Apomu and Ikire through Ikoyi town, and divided themselves into different groups before they launched attacks on the police stations and the affected banks. Unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed three officials of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in Isiokpo community in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. Prior to killing the NCS operatives, attacked a military checkpoint within Omuaga axis of Elele-Owerre, close to the Port Harcourt International Airport, Daily Post reports.
