2023 U-20 AFCON: CAF Congratulates Flying Eagles MOTM Winner

Confederation of African Football, CAF, has congratulated Flying Eagles striker, Solomon Agbalaka, following his impressive performance in the win over Egypt which resulted in a Man of the Match Award at the 2023 U-20 AFCON. The Flying Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Young Pharaohs of Egypt 1-0 at the Cairo international stadium on Wednesday, February 22. Agbalaka scored the sole goal of the match when he headed in to give Nigeria the lead in the 71st minute. Reacting, CAF in a tweet on its official Twitter handle congratulated the youngster. CAF Robbed Me Of Best Player Award in 2013 – Mikel

Mikel Obi, former Super Eagles captain, has claimed that he was robbed of the 2013 African Player of the Year award by the Confederation of African Football, CAF. Mikel was the star performer for Nigeria during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa as he helped his country clinch the tournament. South African Coach Mosimane Joins Saudi Arabian Club

South Africa’s most successful coach in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions, Pitso Mosimane, just became the new coach of Saudi Arabian second division team, Al Ahli Saudi. Rivers United today finished as runners-up and will play in next year’s CAF Champions League, while Enyimba rallied to third place, which allows them to feature in the CAF Confederation Cup on a most dramatic final day of the NPFL. Rivers United lost 1-0 at relegation-threatened Sunshine Stars but won in the boardroom after the NFF disciplinary committee awarded them a disputed match against Jigawa Stars, who fielded an ineligible player. BREAKING: CAS Reinstates Ahmad as CAF President

Madagascar’s Ahmad Ahmad has been reinstated as President of Confederation of African Football (CAF) following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Ahmad was banned by FIFA in November for five years after football’s world governing body found him to have breached several of its ethics codes. The Malagasy appealed his decision at CAS, which issued a preliminary ruling on Friday. Ahmad is still ineligible to contest CAF’s presidential elections in March however, since the CAS decision came after both the CAF’s Governance Committee and FIFA ‘s Review Committee met earlier this week to discuss the eligibility of candidates. World football governing body, FIFA has placed a 5-year ban on Confederation of African Football (CAF) president, Ahmad Ahmad for contravening various codes of ethics. FIFA made the announcement on Monday following the meeting of the executive committee. Ahmad, 60, from Madagascar, was convicted on charges bothering on offering and receiving gifts, abuse of position and mismanagement of funds.
