Super Eagles of Nigeria and Glasgow Rangers defender, Calvin Bassey, is on the verge of joining Dutch club, Ajax Amsterdam.

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Glasgow Rangers defender, Calvin Bassey, is on the verge of joining Dutch club, Ajax Amsterdam.

Fabrizio Romano, Italian transfer guru, reports that Bassey is scheduled to undergo medical ahead of his deal with Ajax expected to be worth €27m.

According to Romano, the transfer includes a €22m flat fee plus €5m add-ons and a 10% sell-on clause for any future sale.

Romano tweeted “Calvin Bassey deal details: €22m fee guaranteed, €5m add-ons and sell on clause around 10% of a future sale. Long term contract for Bassey, top signing confirmed.”

The transfer will make the Super Eagles defender the most expensive defensive signing in the history of Ajax.

He will also be assured of playing in the Champion League. The Nigerian is expected to fill the void left by the imminent departure of Lisandro Martinez who is set to join Manchester united.
