Following the persistent insecurity across the country, the Senate, on Tuesday invited the Minister of Defence, the service chides, and heads of the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Service.
The decision was reached following a motion moved by Senator Bello Mandiya from Katsina State on the recent kidnap of about 333 students of a secondary school in the state by bandits.
The upper legislative chamber also asked President Muhammadu Buhari to commence the implementation of the report of the Senate Committee on Security challenges.
Other members of the red chamber during their contribution to the motion, passed a vote of no confidence on the various heads of security agencies in the country over their failure to prevent the kidnap of the school children.
The lawmakers also expressed deep frustration over the persistent neglect of their resolutions on insecurity by President Buhari.
They insisted that the nation’s chief security officer should immediately sack the service chiefs.
