Following speculations of a possible return to active politics to contest the 2023 election, former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has said that it is too early to talk about seeking a return to the office.
There have been speculations of an imminent return to the office Jonathan last occupied in 2015, before losing the seat to President Muhammad Buhari.
However, the rumours could neither be confirmed nor rubbished as the former president could not definitely rule out a possible shot at the presidential position in 2023.
“it is too early to talk about that,” Jonathan replied while being queried by journalists at an event organised by the Commonwealth Community Choir in Abuja on Friday.
Recall that some governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and stalwarts of the ruling party had recently paid Jonathan a visit, as pressure continues to mount on him to contest the 2023 election.
The visit to his Abuja residence was said to be to felicitate with him on his 63rd birthday anniversary.
