Simy Nwankwo Addresses Crotone Future Amid Exit Rumours

Nigeria forward Simy Nwankwo insists he is happy at Crotone despite interest from top clubs around Europe. Nwankwo is expected to leave Crotone this summer following their relegation to Serie B. Quizzed about his future in an interview with Gazetta dello Sport, the 29-year-old appeared to suggest that he had yet to make any final decision. “I do not know. UFC 263: Israel Adesanya Defeats Vettori to Retain Middleweight Title

Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya has retained his Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight belt after defeating Italian contender, Marvin Vettori, at the Gila River Arena in Arizona on Sunday. He won via a unanimous decision – 50-45, 50-45, 50-45. The win is Adesanya’s third title defence after losing to Jan Blachowicz in a bid to add the light heavyweight title to his laurels. Adesanya showed improvements on his groundwork as he expertly untangled himself from all of Vettori’s takedowns. Renowned as one of the best strikers in the division, the 31-year-old landed several leg shots and jabs as he dimmed Vettori’s dream of becoming the first Italian UFC champion. It is the second time both fighters faced themselves in the UFC with Adesanya running out victorious via split decisio...

Why Ademola Lookman, Ejaria Super Eagles Switch is Yet to Be Completed – Official

A top official has given a reason why Ademola Lookman and Ovie Ejaria are yet to complete their switch to the Super Eagles after they have represented England at various age-grade levels. The official said that contrary to media reports Lookman and Ejaria change of allegiance has not yet been approved by FIFA because the two players do not have Nigerian passports yet. He said that FIFA cannot approve a switch of nationalities without proof of a player’s citizenship, which in this case is the Nigerian passport. “They can’t get FIFA clearance without having a passport and evidence of the citizenship of the country they have chosen to represent,” disclosed the official. Coach Gernot Rohr is committed to strengthening his squad in time for the 2021 AFCON and the 2022 World Cup qual...

While Collins was in action from start to finish, Troost-Ekong was replaced in the 90th minute by Galatasaray centre-back Valentine Ozornwafor – who was making his Super Eagles debut. Coach Gernot Rohr confirmed this development while disclosing that he would try a new approach against Toni Conceicao’s men on Tuesday. “Unfortunately, we lost two other players to injury and it’ll be difficult for the second game in de...
