The Federal Government has declared it won’t negotiate with terrorists and bandits. National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), who stated this during the weekly ministerial briefing at the State House in Abuja, said government would rather deploy all necessary forces to eliminate criminals. Sokoto Polytechnic Student hacks Roommate to Death

Tragedy struck in the Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto, Sokoto State as a second year National Diploma (ND) student of the institution, Miss Zainab Bisola  Owoade, was allegedly stabbed to death by her course mate and roommate. The suspect, Nafeesat Yekini, reportedly ended the life of Owoade untimely by stabbing her with a knife during an argument in their hostel. The deceased was in the Public Administration Department of the institution until her death. According to eyewitness accounts, Owoade was rushed to a nearby hospital after she was stabbed. Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested five suspected Fulani armed robbers in the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with two vehicles containing locally made guns. SaharaReporters learnt that the Fulani suspects were nabbed by troops of 176 Battalion, Gwagwalada, during a stop and search operation at the entrance of Kuje Area council on Thursday. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has imposed a curfew on the Oruku Community, in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the State. The action followed the crisis that greeted the murder of the traditional ruler of the Oruku community, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Chidiebere Mba, on December 26, 2020, which is subject of an ongoing Judicial Commission of Injury, and the recent gruesome murder of the Vice-Chairman of Oruku Town Union Caretaker Committee, Chief Samuel Ani.
