Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has banned political thugs at events and gatherings across the state. Ganduje gave the order in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, yesterday in Kano. Unrest As Traders Set Vigilante Office Ablaze in Umuahia

Some angry traders at the popular Umuahia Timber Market, Abia State, yesterday set ablaze the office of the state Vigilante Service (AVGS) aka “Bakassi Boys” situated within the market. Our correspondent gathered that the traders burnt down the AVGS office after the Bakassi boys killed a trader early yesterday. Police Confirm Killing of DSS Official by Soldiers in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the killing of an operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) by three soldiers. The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Sunday Abutu, described the killing as unfortunate and mindless. Abutu said the gory incident occurred on Friday evening at a hotel located on NTA Road in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital during an argument that ensued between some soldiers and a DSS official, leading to the death of the latter. He noted that the Command had begun investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident, adding that the deceased’s corpse had been deposited in the morgue. Gunmen Kill 3 Custom Personnel in Rivers, Raid Military Checkpoint

Unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed three officials of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in Isiokpo community in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. Prior to killing the NCS operatives, attacked a military checkpoint within Omuaga axis of Elele-Owerre, close to the Port Harcourt International Airport, Daily Post reports.
