WAEC Releases 2021 WASSCE Results, Withholds 11%

The West African Examinations Council has said 81.7 per cent of the candidates made credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics in the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination result. About 1,274,784 million is 81.7 per cent of the total of 1,560,261 million candidates who sat the exam. NRC Directs Shutdown Of Abuja-Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan, Warri Train Services Over Strike

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has directed district managers to be prepared to shut down train stations plying Abuja-Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan and Warri-Itakpe routes in the event that workers down tools. Five top banks in Nigeria paid a total of N1.4bn as penalties to financial regulatory bodies such as the Central Bank of Nigeria, Security Exchange Council and Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, in the first half of the year. The banks are the United Bank of Africa, Fidelity Bank, Access Bank, Guarantee Trust Bank and First City Monument Bank. This figure was arrived at from analysis of the H1 2021 financial statements of the banks obtained from their websites.
