Boss Mustapha, chairman of the presidential steering committee (PSC) on COVID-19, disclosed this on Wednesday at a media briefing in Abuja. The federal government had, in June, added South Africa to the list of countries from which travellers are restricted from entering Nigeria — over the high infection rates recorded in the affected countries. Speaking at the briefing, Mustapha also said a revised protocol for international travel will be released within the next 24 hours. Buhari Spends N41bn on Presidential Fleet Despite Promise To Cut Cost

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has so far expended N41.9bn to maintain the Presidential Air Fleet contrary to the promise Buhari made during the 2015 presidential election campaigns to reduce waste in governance by downsizing the presidential fleet. As of October 2016, when the Presidency last made a public inventory of the PAF, the fleet included 10 aircraft, namely one Boeing Business Jet (or Air Force One) 737, one Gulfstream G550, one Gulfstream G500, one Hawker 4000, two Falcon 7X, two AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters, and two AgustaWestland AW101 helicopters. By the Presidency’s own admission, Buhari’s promise to sell some of the aircraft in the fleet was aimed at minimising the cost of governance. Air Peace’s 12-hour Flight Delay Causes Protest At Lagos Airport

Air passengers were forced to protest at the Murtala Muhammad Local Airport in Lagos on Thursday night as Air Peace delayed their flight for several hours. The commuters complained that their flight was rescheduled without prior notice by the airline from 8am to 8pm. This comes on the heels of the directive by the Federal government that airline operators must refund the full cost of travel tickets to passengers after a two-hour delay. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika had said, “On domestic flights, delay beyond one hour, a carrier should provide refreshment, and one telephone call, or one SMS, or one e-mail. They should send you an SMS or email or call you to say, ‘I am sorry, I am delaying for one hour. Read Also: International Airfares Rise As Naira Crashes On IATA Plat...

Femi Adesina: Hounding the President, Will They Ever Learn?

From Sunday afternoon till evening, I was harried and harassed with phone calls by some people in the media. Can you please confirm the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari? He came into the country on Thursday, and he hasn’t been seen since then. Information at our disposal says his health has taken a turn for the worse. I wondered where the falsity was coming from. But patiently, I tried to respond to the enquiries, reasoning with the callers that the President came back to the country early Thursday evening, in the full glare of Nigerians. He even granted an interview at the airport, saying his routine medical checks went well. On Friday, he was in the office, and equally attended the Jumat service. Saturday was for rest and time with the family. So from where did the perni...
