Northern Cyprus Unsafe for Education, Nigerian Government Alerts Parents

The Nigerian Government has flagged Northern Cyprus as unsafe for Nigerians seeking education abroad due to the continued and mysterious killing of blacks in the country, Sahara Reporters reports. The alarm was raised by Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa on Monday when she hosted a delegation led by Justice Amina Bello, mother of a Nigeria student, Ibrahim Khaleel, who lost his life in insoluble circumstances in Cyprus. She advised parents against sending children there for education, noting hundreds of Nigerian students had been murdered there without the perpetrators been brought to justice. Violent Clash in Enugu Claims Lives of ‘21’ IPOB Members, Two DSS Operatives (See Video)

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has claimed that 21 of its members were killed in a violent clash with security operatives and 47 others arrested in Emene, Enugu State on Sunday. The Department of State Services (DSS) has also alleged that two of its operatives were killed by members of the IPOB. The claims were made by the IPOB and SSS in separate statements on Sunday. The clash  left residents of the neighborhood gripped with fear as armed police officers and soldiers were deployed to ensure normalcy returns to the area. The fracas in the Enugu State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) took a new turn on Thursday as the election into leadership roles of the body ended in violence after thugs disrupted the process. Some members of the association were soaked in their own blood after thugs allegedly sponsored by a faction of the body invaded the election which took place at the Michael Okpara Square. Over 30 hoodlums stormed the venue with deadly weapons while voting was ongoing and disrupted the process.
