They Hate God, They Loathe Humanity By Femi Adesina

Femi Adesina Haters of God and humanity struck on Monday, bombing the Abuja-Kaduna train. They then proceeded to open fire on passengers of the immobilized coaches. It was premeditated murder from the very bottom of hell. See the toll of the carnage. Promising lives, cut short. Destinies terminated. Hopes and plans, ruptured. People who committed no sin, no crime, except that they lived in the same space with people who hate God, who loathe humanity, and who despise themselves. Hell awaits them, indeed, the hottest part of that nether region, “where their worms do not die, and the fire is never quenched.” May God rest the souls of the dead, console their loved ones, cause rescue to come for the kidnapped. And the evildoers? They have their comeuppance awaiting them. “Though hand...

Kaduna Train Attack Questions Our Capacity To Govern — Govs

Train Governors of the 36 states of the federation yesterday condemned the terrorist attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train service, saying the attack and other acts of violence in the country questioned their capacity to govern. The governors’ reaction came as the Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, lamented that with the attack which left eight passengers dead and 41 others injured, mourning had now become a daily ritual in the country. This is even as Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, described the attack and general insecurity in the country as rendering lives worthless under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. It will be recalled that the terrorists blew the Abuja-Kaduna rail track with explosives on Monday night, forcing the train to d...

IPOB denied having hand in what it called an “ignoble and despicable” attack on Police stations in the South East, particularly  Imo State, urging the federal government of Nigeria and the Department of State Services, DSS, to beam its searchlight on the Imo State government to unravel who are the unknown gunmen that have not allowed peace to reign in the state. A statement by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, entitled, “We did not attack any Police station in Imo State” alleged that enemies of their struggle have bee...

10 Reasons Osinbajo Will Ignite a Religious Civil War by Farooq Kperogi

A Yemi Osinbajo presidency would, without a doubt, plunge Nigeria into the depths of a smoldering religious volcano that will hasten its self-immolation. This isn’t some idly churlish oracular indulgence. It’s based on an intimate familiarity with Osinbajo’s trajectory of religious bigotry, overpowering anti-Muslim prejudice, and irrevocable devotion to the materialization of a Pentecostal, specifically RCCG, capture of the Nigerian state. Here’re 10 reasons for my fears: 1. The RCCG memo that asked churches to actively support its members vying for political offices was inspired by Osinbajo and is consistent with his history of exclusivist religious politics. In 2013, for example, he formed the Christian Conscience Group—along with Enoch Ajiboso, Dele Sobowale, and Most Reverend Josep...
