Owo Massacre: Tears at Funeral Mass for Victims

Victims of the Owo massacre that took place about 13 days ago are to be laid to rest today. A funeral mass for the victims took place today at the Mydas Resort, Owo and had in attendance Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state along with many other dignitaries. Expectedly, there was a huge turnout of people who, either came to pay their last respects or to simply witness the event. The army in Cameroon has confirmed that soldiers have killed nine civilians, including an 18-month-old girl. Suspected Islamists killed at least 18 people in a village raid in eastern Congo on Sunday night, local sources said, while fighting resumed with the M23 rebel group in a neighbouring province. Fighters believed to be from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed residents and burned down houses in the village of Otomabere, in Irumu territory, Ituri province, said a witness, a local chief and a local human rights group.
