The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, on Friday said former President Olusegun Obasanjo would not escape prosecution if President Muhammadu Buhari decides to probe the power sector. The former governor of Edo State spoke in Jos during the opening of Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong’s reelection campaign at the Rwang Pam Stadium. A road safety officer had the misfortune of hitting a Benz G-wagon while drunk-driving. Road safety officers are usually dreaded by road users because of their eagerness to pounce on real and perceived road safety related infractions. It was therefore a shock to see one of such officials driving on the express fully drunk. It is not clear how the FRSC will handle this matter as Nigerians have been complaining about the many excesses of this body. Nigeria: LASTMA Officer Shot Dead By Suspected F-SARS Officer

An official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, identified as Rotimi Adeyemo, was shot dead in the Iyana-Ipaja area of Alimosho Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday. PUNCH Metro gathered that Adeyemo, while controlling traffic at the Iyana-Ipaja roundabout, stopped a motorist, who was alleged to be an operative of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, for violating a traffic rule, but the motorist, who was apparently annoyed by the action of the LASTMA official, allegedly brought out a gun from his vehicle and shot the official dead. The gubernatorial election held in Osun State on Saturday has once again brought up the issue of the Independent National Electoral Commission's powers to declare an election as "inconclusive" and the circumstances under which it could so declare.
