Police Raid Cubana Night Club, Arrest over 200 Clubbers

Over 200 clubbers and workers were arrested on Saturday night at popular Cubana Night Club, Lagos for alleged breach of COVID-19 protocols. Detectives attached to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Team at the wee hours of Saturday, raided the venue following a tip-off on large gathering in the club house. Saturday’s raid was the third, since last year, that the state and Federal Governments announced temporary closure of relaxation spots in order to minimise the spread of the coronavirus disease. 4 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine Expected on Tuesday – PTF

Nigeria is expected to take delivery of its first batch of COVID-19 vaccine allocation on Tuesday, March 3, 2021 the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has assured. Chairman of the PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, who made the disclosure late Saturday night, also said the expected allocation will be four million doses. Ghana to Receive World’s First Doses of Free Covax Vaccines -UNICEF

Ghana is scheduled to receive Wednesday the first shipment of Covid-19 vaccines from Covax, a World Health Organization-backed effort to procure and distribute inoculations for free to poor countries. “These 600,000 Covax vaccines are part of an initial tranche of deliveries of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine licensed to the Serum Institute of India, which represent part of the first wave of Covid vaccines headed to several low and middle-income countries,” said UNICEF, which organised the shipment from Mumbai, in a joint statement with the WHO.
