Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ Tops Most-streamed Music Album 2020

Nigerian musician, Burna Boy’s album, Twice As Tall, released this year has emerged as the most-streamed Nigerian album on the Spotify streaming platform for this year. The album recently earned the singer his second Grammy Awards nomination. The ringer, dubbed African Giant raked over 64 million streams of the album to earn the number one spot as the most-streamed Nigerian album on Spotify in 2020. The rating covers albums that were released in 2020. The report by Spotify showed that Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album ranks second as the most-streamed Nigerian music, while songstress, Tiwa Savage’s Celia comes third. FG Declares Thursday Public holiday to Mark Eid-el Maolud Celebration

The Federal Government (FG) has declared Thursday as a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-el Maolud. The celebration is in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. This was disclosed by Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Raud Aregbesola on behalf of the government who congratulated all Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Manga in a statement on Tuesday titled, ‘FG declares Thursday, October 29, 2020 public holiday to mark Eidul Mawlid celebration,’ made the announcement.   MultiChoice claims that reports on social media that its entertainment platforms – DStv and GOtv- have been hacked were untrue. A representative of the company who pleaded anonymity told The PUNCH on Sunday. African News Today gathered that the Pay-TV company had earlier informed its subscribers via text messages of an imminent system upgrade. The company told its subscribers that its services would be offline as it would be upgrading its system from 11pm on October 17 to 4pm on October 19, 2020. The representative we gathered said all the stations were made available in order not to deny subscribers access to its services as its payment and self-service platforms would be inaccessible during the period of the upgrade.
