Nigerian musician, Burna Boy’s album, Twice As Tall, released this year has emerged as the most-streamed Nigerian album on the Spotify streaming platform for this year.
The album recently earned the singer his second Grammy Awards nomination.
The ringer, dubbed African Giant raked over 64 million streams of the album to earn the number one spot as the most-streamed Nigerian album on Spotify in 2020.
The rating covers albums that were released in 2020.
The report by Spotify showed that Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album ranks second as the most-streamed Nigerian music, while songstress, Tiwa Savage’s Celia comes third.
Burna Boy’s Twice as as Tall album was produced by American rapper and business mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, as well as Bose Ogulu, Burna’s mum.
Finishing fourth on the chart was Omah Lay’s Get lay’d album with 10 million streams while Adekunle Gold’s, Afropop Vol 1 ranked fifth with 9.6 million streams.
Iconic musician, Tubaba’s album, Warrior trailed with 9.18 million streams while Fem singer, Davido’s A Better Time album has 9.15 million streams on Spotify, making him it the seventh most-streamed album in Nigeria.
Ranking eight on the chart was YBNL sensation, Fireboy’s Apollo album with 7.93 streams. Also, Kizz Daniel’s King of Love album ranked ninth with 7.69 million streams and Niniola’s Colours&Sound album is the 10th most-streamed album in Nigeria this year with 7.61 million streams.
