Strike: ASUU Reacts To Parents’ Proposal To Pay N10,000 To End Strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has turned down a proposal by the National Parent-Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, to contribute at least N10,000 per parent in every academic section in an attempt to bring the lingering strike to an end.
Dr. Ademola Ekundayo, NAPTAN Public Relations Officer, in an interview said the effort was to assist the Federal Government to meet the demands of ASUU.
Reacting to the development, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, the President of ASUU in an interview with Arise Television on Thursday turned down the offer.
Osodeke instead asked the association to pressurize the federal government to sign their agreement with the union.
