ASUU Strike: We have Done The Best We Can – FG

The Federal Government said it has done everything possible to end the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). ASUU transitioned into a full-blown strike after declaring a month warning strike on the 14th of February, 2022. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has lamented the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Obi described the ongoing strike as “unconscionable, worrisome and unacceptable” and regretted that the Federal Government has not done enough to resolve the contending issues with the university teachers. How I Solved Dispute With ASUU In One Night – Jonathan

Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has recalled how he ended a four-month-old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU,  in a single night. Jonathan disclosed this in Abuja during the 70th birthday celebration of the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah, put together by Kukah Centre. ASUU Strike: FG convenes Meeting Of Varsity Councils, VCs

The Federal Government has convened a meeting of pro-chancellors, vice-chancellors and chairmen of government councils of federal universities in Abuja on September 6 as part of an attempt to find a solution to the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. The meeting was called on the instance of the National Universities Commission, NUC. ASUU Embarks On Indefinite Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has declared a comprehensive and indefinite industrial action. The union’s National Executive Council had convened a meeting on Sunday to deliberate the government’s failure to meet their demands. EKSU ASUU Kicks Against Resumption Order

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti chapter, has kicked against the resumption order issued by the management of the institution. Dr Kayode Arogundade, the Chairman of the union, stated this in an interview on Friday. Arogundade however stated that the university’s Registrar, Ife Oluwole, was at liberty to reopen the university which he shut down following the strike by ASUU. Strike: ASUU Reacts To Parents’ Proposal To Pay N10,000 To End Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has turned down a proposal by the National Parent-Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, to contribute at least N10,000 per parent in every academic section in an attempt to bring the lingering strike to an end. Dr. Ademola Ekundayo, NAPTAN Public Relations Officer, in an interview said the effort was to assist the Federal Government to meet the demands of ASUU. Reacting to the development, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, the President of ASUU in an interview with Arise Television on Thursday turned down the offer.
