President Muhammadu Buhari has labelled the recent kidnap of over 300 schoolboys from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina State, as ploy to embarrass his administration. He said this when he received the rescued students and representatives of their parents at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Katsina, News Agency of Nigeria reports. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has ordered the closure of all public and private schools in the state with immediate effect. This was disclosed in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Education, Sanusi Kiru, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Kano on Wednesday. Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has renamed the Akintola University of Technology (LAUCTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital. Following reports of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje being appointed as a visiting professor, the East Carolina University has debunked the report, saying the letter issued to the governor was from unauthorised source. Abba Anwar, Ganduje’s spokesperson had on Tuesday claimed the governor’s appointment was contained in a letter sent to him by the varsity through a lecturer of the International Centre for IT and Development, Victor Mbarika, at the university’s College of Business on November 30.
