Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has announced a N10 million reward for anyone that has valuable information to lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of Hon. Three Italians Kidnapped In Southern Mali

Armed men kidnapped an Italian couple and their son in southern Mali overnight, their church said on Friday, as violence spreads in a country ravaged by an Islamist insurgency. A spokesman for the Jehovah's Witnesses church in neighboring Senegal said the couple is in their 70s and their son is about 50. They were living in Mali for personal reasons and are not missionaries, he said. It was not immediately clear who took them, he said. DR Congo Policeman Sentenced To Death For Murder

A Congolese military court has sentenced a high-ranking policeman to death for his role in the 2010 murder of human rights activist Floribert Chebeya, which caused national outrage. Commissioner of police Christian Ngoy Kenga Kenga was found guilty of murder, desertion and misappropriation of weapons and ammunition. Mr Chebeya's body was found bound and gagged in his car in Kinshasa. There is a moratorium on capital punishments in DR Congo. ‘Facebook Rapist’ Found Dead In South African Prison

State Maximum Security Jail South African convict Thabo Bester, also known as “the Facebook Rapist” for using the social networking site to lure his victims has been found dead in his prison cell. The convicted rapist and murderer died on Tuesday May 3, according to Correctional Services Department spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo. Court Strikes Out Kyari’s Suit Against NDLEA

A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Thursday, dismissed a fundamental enforcement rights suit filed by suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the suit after counsel for the NDLEA, Joseph Sunday, prayed the court that the matter be struck out. When the matter was called, Cynthia Ikena, lawyer to Kyari, was absent. Sunday, NDLEA’s Director of Prosecution and Legal Services, urged the court to strike out the suit. Justice Ekwo said he was informed that Ikena sent a letter, praying the court for an adjournment. But the letter was not filed by the lawyer and therefore not in compliance with the court rule. Abba Kyari The embattled former Commander, Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, has rejected food offered him by the Nigerian Correctional Service after being remanded in prison custody on Monday. The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, it was learnt, opted for the food prepared by his wife or other family members. Seventy-five people kidnapped from Yar Katsina community in Kekun Waje district of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State have been released by their captors. The freed residents were abducted in two major attacks on the community in the past two months. Operatives of the Lagos and Enugu Zonal Commands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday arrested 33 internet fraud suspects in separate sting operation.
