Inspector General of Police (IG) Alkali Baba Usman has appointed Mr. Tunji Disu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), as the new head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT). Muiz Banire, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has urged a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, to turn himself into the Interpol if he is sure that he is innocent of the allegations preferred against him by the United States Attorney’s Office, Central District of California. The American court had issued an arrest warrant against Kyari for his alleged role in the case of alleged international fraud involving five other persons and running into over $1m. Suspended Head of the Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, may appear before the Special Investigation Panel probing his alleged involvement in a $1.1 million Internet fraud this week. The Police Service Commission on Sunday suspended Kyari, from service. This was sequel to the recommendation of Kyari’s suspension by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, on Saturday. IGP Recommends Abba Kyari For ‘Immediate’ Suspension

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has recommended the “immediate suspension” of the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari, from the Nigeria Police Force. The recommendation states that DCP Kyari’s suspension will be on pending the outcome of an ongoing internal investigations into his indictment for alleged involvement in a $1.1m internet fraud by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
