Catholic Priests Abducted along Expressway in Edo

Two catholic priests traveling along the Benin-Auchi-Abuja Expressway have reportedly been kidnapped. The priests were abducted on Saturday while traveling from Benin to Uromi in Edo state. Shortly after Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia of the St. Michael Catholic Church, located around the Edo North Senatorial District was kidnapped and killed, two other priests, Rev.Fathers Udo Peter and Philemon were also kidnapped in the same state. Mr. Fred Itua, a close friend of Rev. Fr. Oboh also confirmed that he was kidnapped. "Rev. Fr. Oboh is a priest, who does not have money. A two year old girl has reportedly been raped by two suspected rapists in Yauri local government area of kebbi state. Police detectives have arrested two pastors in Ondo and rescued 54 worshipers with 23 children, who were been held in an underground apartment, sited under The Whole Believers Bible Church in Ondo state. Ibom Air cancelled 58 scheduled flights over scarcity of aviation kerosene. The hike and scarcity of aviation kerosene, which is commonly known as jet A1 had resulted in 58 flights been canceled out of over 1000 flights recorded as at the month of June 2022.
