Strategic Capital Investment Limited Buys Polaris Bank For N50 Billion

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and the Asset Management Company of Nigeria, AMCON, have announced the sale of Polaris Bank to Strategic Capital Investment Limited, SCIL. SCIL acquired 100 percent of the equity in the bank. Nine Ghanaians Jailed For Cannabis Smuggling Into Nigeria

Nine Ghanaians have been sentenced to eight years imprisonment each by the federal high court in Laos for attempting to smuggle cannabis into Nigeria. No fewer than six people have been reported dead after a boat capsized in the Gbara area of Mokwa Local Government Area, LGA, in Niger State. A statement issued by the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, on Saturday stated that five people are still missing. Th mishap occurred on Friday evening when the boat which was carrying 48 passengers was on its way back from Danchitagi village market in Lavun LGA to Gbara village.
