IGP Deploys Armed Officers As Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Restarts Monday

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba has directed the deployment of armed operatives to secure the Abuja-Kaduna train services. This was contained in a statement issued by the force spokesperson, Oluwuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday. Adejobi said the personnel would be drawn from the police mobile force, K-9force intelligence bureau, explosive ordinance unit, and railway police command. The Abuja-Kaduna train service is scheduled to resume on Monday, December 5. Aisha Buhari Withdraws Case Against Twitter Critic, Aminu

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has withdrawn the case against Aminu Adamu, a 500-level student of the Federal University, Dutse. The 24-year-old student was arrested by the police in Dutse for allegedly posting a defamatory tweet on his Twitter handle against the First Lady. Adamu, a student of Environmental Management, was alleged to have posted a plump picture of Aisha Buhari with a caption in Hausa, translated to mean, “Mama is feeding fat on poor people’s money.” He tweeted on June 8, 2022. Ogun Police Arrest Two Brothers For Car Theft

The Nigeria Police, Ogun State command has nabbed two brothers for stealing a Toyota Camry in Lagos State. Officers of the force nabbed the suspects on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while attempting to escape with the stolen car to Imo State. Bassey Albert, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, has been sentenced to 42 years in prison by an Akwa Ibom federal high court for fraud.   Albert was arraigned in 2019 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a six-count charge of allegedly taking possession of six vehicles valued at N204 million when he was Akwa Ibom State finance commissioner. A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court on Tuesday remanded a 500-level student of the Federal University, Dutse, Aminu Muhammad, in a custodial centre for allegedly criticing the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari.
