The National Identity Management Commission has closed its headquarters in Abuja against all National Identity Number enrolment activities. The Federal Government has asked schools to resume on January 18, 2021 after “due consultation” with stakeholders. The decision was reached after a meeting with stakeholders, including Governors, Commissioners of Education, Proprietors and heads of institutions, staff unions and students. The Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, in a statement on Thursday, said the consensus at the meeting was that the resumption date of 18th January should remain, while parents and respective institutions ensure full compliance with COVID-19 protocols. BREAKING: NECO Releases SSCE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the internal Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) results with a two per cent increase of candidates who made five credits and above in all subjects. The Council also derecognised 12 schools for their involvement in mass cheating and whole school cases of malpractice. The Registrar, Professor Godswill Obioma, announced these at the NECO Headquarters in Minna. He said the schools derecignised include four schools in Adamawa, two in kaduna, two in Kastina, Two in Niger, one in Taraba and one in FCT. Amotekun Kicks Off in Ogun

The Ogun State Government has said that the full operation of the South West Security Outfit, codenamed Amotekun, will ensure that lives and property in the state, particularly in remote areas, are secured. Management of the Federal University of Technology (FUTA) Akure has fixed January 18 for the resumption of academic activities. A statement by the institution’s Deputy Director, Corporate Communications and Protocol, Adegbenro Adebanjo, said the decision to resume academic activities was reached at its Senate meeting last week.
