Nnamdi Kanu Denied Being An IPOB Member – Shuaib Labaran

Shuaib Labaran, the lead counsel to the Federal Government on the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has said he (Kanu) denied membership of IPOB. The Federal Government has laid charges of treason against Nnamdi Kanu, including 15 fresh charges which were filed on Monday. The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned to consider the application filed by the defence lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN. Nnamdi Kanu had earlier pleaded not guilty to the FG's amended charges. The Prosecution lawyer insisted that the FG was ready to go on with the case and have two witnesses in Court. However, Mike Ozekhome filed an application to quash all charges against his client and also filed an application for bail, a move Labaran Magaji (lawyer to the FG) countered that he only received the application this morning and the main trial should continue. Ebonyi Government Threatens To Punish Residents Who Will Obey Sit-At-Home Order

Ebonyi State government has warned residents of the state against obeying the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), ahead of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu's court outing, IGBERETV reports. About one million, five hundred thousand tablets and capsules of pharmaceutical opioids such as Tramadol, Exol-5 and Diazepam loaded in Onitsha, Anambra state and heading to Yauri, Kebbi state have been intercepted in Edo state by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Friday 14th January, same day 425,000 Diazepam tablets were recovered at Segemu, Kano.
