190,000 Applicants Jostle For 9,460 NIS, NSCDC Jobs

Over 190,000 applicants are jostling for 9,460 job slots at the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The candidates sat for the examination today in 126 centres across nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The examination, which was computer-based, was conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has suspended his chief of staff, Anthony Agbazuere. This was announced in a short statement released on Sunday. Breaking: APC Wins Borno Assembly By-election

The All Progressives Congress APC has won the two State Assembly seats conducted on Saturday in Borno state. Announcing the results in Briyel, headquarters of Bayo Local Government, the INEC Returning Officer Professor Gurama Abubakar declared Maina Maigari of the APC winner with 15,484 votes to defeat six other contestants. Also, in Gajiram, Nganzai local government, the returning officer, Dr Kamsulum Umar declared APC candidate Mahommed Gajiram winner of the State Assembly seat with 8885 votes and returned elected. The by-election was held following the demise of the two House of Assembly members during the COVID-19.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Saturday arrested the Special Adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin for alleged vote buying. Home-based Super Eagles Camping To Precede Future Matches

The Nigeria Football Federation has responded to calls by Nigerians for the involvement of domestic league players in Super Eagles’ matches, by agreeing to commence camping with home-based players, for a week or two, prior to the arrival of the overseas-based players.
