Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has stated his reason for his dispute with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and the party’s chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
The Governor said at a project commissioning in his state that when Atiku won the party’s primary election, he promised Ayu would resign from his position.
Wike noted that Ayu must resign from his position as the party’s chairman, as he said “This fight, we will fight it to the end”.
Stating another reason for his rift with Atiku and Ayu, Wike said the North had produced the Presidential candidate and also shouldn’t hold on to the chairmanship of the party.
Wike said the removal of the Board of Trustees chairman, Walid Jibril, cannot stop him from demanding Ayu’s resignation.
