The President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba, has said that the union will only vote for a credible candidate irrespective of the political party.
Wabba in an interview with Vanguard said Nigerians have grown above political party sentiment, noting that only the candidates with the right personality will be voted for in 2023.

He said, “I’ve told you clearly, the parties are mere platforms. At all the parties you have the good, the bad, and the ugly.
“So, what we are looking at is the personality of the candidate, not the party the person belongs to. Don’t be deceived. Workers will not be deceived by only looking at the platform of a party.
“Even in the Labour party, if we have a bad candidate, we will say, this is a bad product, we’re not going to vote for him”.
Wabba added that workers are presently being conscientious to make their votes count in the forthcoming elections.
The labour leader said Nigerian civil servants had suffered neglect by previous leaders, stating that 2023 presents a chance to chart a new course.
