NAHCO Workers Suspend Strike After Commencement of Negotiation

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Handing Company Plc, NAHCO, staff members have announced a suspension of their strike embarked on in the quest to demand salary increases. The aviation workers, under the umbrella of the national union of air transport employees, NUATE, and air transport services senior staff association of Nigeria, ATSSSAN, said the management of NAHCO had begun negotiations with its workers. Ngige, CONUA Blast ASUU Over Highhandedness, Lack of Transparency

Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour, Employment and Productivity, has blamed lack of transparency by the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, for the decision of the Federal Government to register rival trade unions in the university system. Femi Falana, the lead counsel of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, has asked the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to apologise to the members of the union. 439 Foreign-trained Doctors Failed Competence Exam – MDCN  

A total of 439 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates failed the assessment examination organised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). The MDCN conducted the two-day assessment examination on November 23 and 24, 2022, at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto. This was stated by Dr Tijani Sanusi, the council’s Registrar, in an interview with Punch on Sunday. According to Sanusi, 916 foreign-trained medical and dental candidates took the assessment examination but only 477 candidates were successful.
