Nigerians Must Get Involved in Active Youth Engagement Says Lagos Lawmaker

In commemoration of 2019 World Youth Skills Day, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 has called on Nigerians to get involved in active youth engagement, saying this would help achieving sustainable development goals and stable society.
In a statement signed and made available to AFRICAN NEWS TODAY on Monday, he said, “the active engagement of youth in sustainable development efforts is central to achieving sustainable, inclusive and stable societies and to averting the worst threats and challenges to sustainable development.”
Yishawu posted that young people are almost three times more likely to be unemployed than adults and continuously exposed to lower quality of jobs greater labour market inequalities, and longer and more insecure school-to-work transitions.
While celebrating with the Nigerian youths resilient, the lawmaker appealed to them not to engage in any form of atrocities that will further endanger the country.
“Now that governments are working hard to tackle Insecurity in the country, youths must not involve in any form of atrocities”, he said.
