The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, says its members do not accept the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, or any Igbo Presidency.

The group reveals that their goal doesn’t change even if a candidate from the Southeast emerges as President, saying that Nigeria is irredeemable.

The spokesman of the group, Emma Powerful, says that the Igbo supporters of Peter Obi are not part of its members as the IPOB is not interested in anyone contesting for the presidential Office.

In a statement he signed, Powerful said: “The Igbo people rallying behind Peter Obi are not IPOB members because IPOB’s goal is the disintegration of the Nigerian enterprise irrespective of whether Peter Obi or anyone else from the Biafran geographic space is contesting in the Nigerian farce of an election.

“IPOB is a freedom fighting movement and has nothing whatsoever to do with or in Nigerian politics. So long as we in IPOB are concerned, Nigeria is irredeemable.”

The group also demanded that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, should be released.
