Former PDP Chair, Ogbulafor Passes On At 73

Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has passed on aged 73.

Sources say Ogbulafor died peacefully in the late hours of Thursday in Canada.

The one-time National Secretary became National Chairman of the PDP after Umar Yar’Adua became the president in 2007.

The Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State indigene was famed for his stance on one party system.

Ogbulafor was quoted as saying that the PDP would remain in power for at least 60 years. However, that dream failed when truncated when the All Progressives Congress, APC, took over power in 2015 from the PDP.

His death was confirmed by a top official of the Abia State government who spoke to Punch on Saturday but didn’t want his name in print. The source said, “Yes, he’s dead. He died in Canada.”
