A commissioner commissioner of Women Affairs & Social Development in Kaduna State, Hafsat M Baba, has referred to Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu as a Biafra-apologist. In a tweet that has sparked off outrage from Nigerians, she said “The unsung hero, in this very anticlimactic turn of events, is our dear Amina Zakari. She was bullied out of the logistics position in INEC and replaced by a male, Biafra-apologist Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu. She has been vindicated, one of our very own Arewa Sheroes.”
In her tweet, she had been commenting on the agitation for the removal of Amina Zakari. Supporting her position, another Twitter user with the handle @TweetKhalifa said “It wasn’t bigotry/sexism when they were fighting Amina Zakari tooth and nails. It is now, that @HafsatMohBaba decided to turn it against them, especially those who would’ve said “I told you” if she’d been in charge during this mess, that they’re shouting.”
Both tweets received some lashing from Nigerians especially those who pointed out that the logistics committee of the election, a 17 man panel, was not headed by the Professor but by Ahmed Tijani Mu’azu.
