ASUU Strike: UNIBEN Staff Member Commits Suicide
Prince Carter Oshodin who is a staff of the Federal University of Benin committed suicide on Friday over the non-payment of salaries due to ASUU strike.
The Government had refused to pay workers of universities that had embarked on a strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

This action by the University unions which led to non-payment of salaries prompted the data entry personnel at UNIBEN, Price Carter to take his life as he could not meet his financial responsibilities.
A UNIBEN professor, his name undisclosed, said it was disheartening because they hadn’t been paid for months by the federal government including those who had called off the strike.
