Osimhen Fined By Napoli For Breaching COVID-19 Rules

Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been fined two weeks’ wages by Napoli for flouting the club’s COVID-19 regulations. Napoli announced on Friday that Osimhen had contracted coronavirus. A video of the Nigerian posted on Instagram by @equipoarrow where he was seen partying without a face mask and not observing social distancing has reportedly angered his club coach, Gennaro Gattuso. Osimhen Recovers From Shoulder Injury, Returns To Italy For Xmas

Napoli and Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly recovered from the shoulder injury which has sidelined him for weeks now and is back in Italy for Christmas, according to reports. The 21-year-old has been sidelined since dislocating his shoulder while on international duty with Nigeria last month. His last match for Gennaro Gatusso’s side was on November 8, when he scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 away win against Bologna. The Nigeria Football Federation has responded to calls by Nigerians for the involvement of domestic league players in Super Eagles’ matches, by agreeing to commence camping with home-based players, for a week or two, prior to the arrival of the overseas-based players. Former Tanzania coach Emmanuel Amuneke has denied suggestions that he was keen on working as assistant to coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr.
