World Cup: England Escapes Narrowly, Wins Colombia on Penalties

England escaped a possible defeat to Colombia after the match went into extra time. The English team had taken the lead in the second half (having played a goalless first half) through a Harry Kane 57th minute penalty. It looked like the English were home and dry until Colombia's tall defender, Mina nodded in an equalizer in the 3rd minute of the 5 minute added time. This took the game into extra time. Just before the match, he was called by a family member who informed him of the kidnap and gave him a number to call. In a match that started with two quick goals - one for each side, there was surprisingly no other goals. World Cup: Japan Advances to Second Round, Loses 0:1 to Poland

Japan has advanced to the second round of the World Cup even after losing 0:1 to Poland. Poland went into the match knowing they had already dropped out of the World Cup. Poland got their goal in the 59th minute through Bednarek and the Japanese were unable to respond through the rest of the match. The Japanese had 4 points and were hoping to win the match.
