Egyptian Club Prioritize Signing Ex-Barca Defender Alves

The Chairman of Pharco company Sherine Helmy has revealed that his club are making a frantic effort to sign former Barcelona and Brazilian defender, Dani Alves. The club which will make its debut in the Egyptian Premier League next season after gaining promotion to the elite cadre is owned by a popular pharmaceuticals company. “I held talks with former Barcelona star Dani Alves, and he told me that one of his dreams was to play for São Paulo since he was 8 years old and he achieved his target when he reached 38 years, Helmy said in an interview with a television programme. CAS Rules on Siasia’s Life-ban

The Court of Arbitration for Sports, CAS, has reduced the life ban imposed on former Super Eagles player and coach, Samson Siasia to five years. Siasia was in 2019 handed a life ban for bribery by the world football governing body, FIFA for agreeing to receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches. The Nigerian coach appealed against the ban at CAS, while refuting the charges against him. In its ruling, “CAS determined the imposition of a life ban to be disproportionate for a first offence which was committed passively and which had not had an adverse or immediate effect on football stakeholders, and that a five-year ban would still achieve the envisaged aim of punishing the infringement committed by Mr Siasia.” The ban has been backdated to start on 16 August 2019 ...
