Family Of Slain Vendor Demands N500m Compensation From Gbajabiamila

The family of the late newspaper vendor, Ifeanyichukwu Okereke, who was murdered by a security aide of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has demanded for the sum of N500m as compensation. The Okereke family said it would take legal action against Gbajabiamila if all the demands were not met within seven days. This was contained in a letter dated November 23, 2020 signed by lawyer to the family, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN). Gbajabiamila Reveals Security Aide Who Shot Abuja Vendor Dead

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has revealed identity of a security aide attached to his convoy, who shot a vendor, Ifeanyi Okereke on Thursday at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja. The Speaker identified the security aide as Abdullahi Hassan. Hassan, he said, has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for investigation as well as administrative and judicial actions. The Speaker, who has been advocating reforms of the security system, however said he will ensure the family of the late vendor gets justice. Reps to Pass PIB in Six Months – Gbajabiamila

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila on Tuesday said the House was determined to pass a Petroleum Industry Bill that will be acceptable to all Nigerians within the next six months. Speaking when he received a delegation of the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) of the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gbajabiamila said “there are two things that the House would want to do. First, the House is determined to pass the bill within the next six months, or probably less, because the clock has already started running from the time it was presented. “Two, the House is determined to pass a PIB that is satisfactory to all.
