50 Suspects Arrested In Connection With Imo Attacks

Fifty persons have been arrested in connection with the recent attack on Owerri correctional centre and the police command in Imo state. The state governor, Hope Uzodinma, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Friday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja. The governor said he had requested from the president an improvement in manpower and logistics for the security agencies in the state. Governors of the South-East geo-political zone, on Sunday, rose from a closed-door meeting with the leadership of religious, political and traditional institutions in the zone, Ohaneze Ndigbo and Joint Security Committee, at the Government House, Enugu, reiterating the adoption of EBUBEAGU as the common Joint Security outfit with its Regional Headquarters in Enugu. The ruling All Progressives Congress has warned Nigerian youths to not allow themselves to be used as tools in a war against any tribe or community in Nigeria. The party said this in a post on Twitter accompanied by photos of a Commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ikonso, who was killed yesterday during an operation involving the police, army and the Department of State Services. Bandits Abduct 77 Persons In Fresh Attack On Kaduna Village

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted 77 persons at Libere village in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, April 21. According to AIT, village head of neighbouring Kalla, Aminu Na’Iri who confirmed the incident said eight members of a family, including the wife and children are among the abducted persons. Geidam, Yobe State hometown of the Acting Police Inspector General Usman Baba Alkali, came under attack last night from terror sect, Boko Haram, sending residents scampering for their lives. The Bring Back Our Girls movement has released a list bearing the names of all the girls still held captive by the terror group, Boko Haram after their kidnap on April 14, 2014. The list was released by the Lagos chapter of BBOG during a sit-out in Ikoyi to mark the seventh anniversary of the kidnap, Punch reports. Lear Sharibu along with 275 other girls were abducted from their school while preparing for final year examinations. After seven years, 164 were said to have regained freedom.
