Ikpeazu To Evacuate Stranded Abia students From UNIJOS

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has dispatched a team led by his Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Mr Chibuzo Ndom, to the University of Jos, Plateau State, to evacuate students of Abia origin who are currently stranded as a result of the recent violence and subsequent closure of the institution. Sit-at-home Won’t Be Enforced Again – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra has raised an alarm over plots by security agents to unleash mayhem on innocent residents of the south-East on Monday (today) and blame it on members of the Easter Security Network. This is as the group reiterated that it had no plan to enforce its hitherto weekly sit-at-home order, alleging that it had uncovered a plot by security operatives to disguise as its members and those of ESN to “attack traders who come out tomorrow for their legitimate businesses”. The Delta State Commandant of the Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC), Mr Akinsanya Ishilu, has dispatched 50 personnel to ensure security and orderliness during the coronation of Prince Tsola Emiko as the Olu of Warri today, August 21, 2021. Following the rising spate of insecurity in Jos and its environs, the Management of the University of Jos has suspended all academic activities in the institution till further notice. Mr Monday Danjem, the Registrar of the university, unveiled this development in a statement on Friday in Jos. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N658 million for the deployment of sniffer dogs at Lagos and Abuja international airports. The council gave the approval during the weekly meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday. Hadi Sirika, minister of aviation, while speaking with reporters after the council meeting, said four memoranda was approved for the ministry totalling N16,697,742,839. According to him, the projects to be executed in the contracts include construction of Wachakal Airport in Yobe State at N6.3 billion; post-construction services for the same airport at the cost of N219.8 million. An operative of the South-West security network known as Amotekun has allegedly shot a 15-year-old boy dead in the Makola area of the Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State. The mishap which took place on Wednesday has thrown members of the community into confusion. Gunmen Kidnap 15 Students Of Bakura Agriculture College, Zamfara, 4 Killed

Gunmen have abducted some students and teachers at the College of Agriculture and Animal Health in Bakura, Zamfara state. Aliyu Bakura, deputy registrar of the college, confirmed the development to BBC Hausa. “Last Sunday night around 10pm they entered and opened fire and took away 15 students and a teacher and his wife and two children,” he said. Mallam Aliyu said the attackers were very numerous and climbed the wall and spent more than two hours in the school firing.
