Adeyinka Akinbami, a pastor with the House on the Rock Church has died of COVID-19 complications, aged 61 African News Today has gathered. Following public outcry over the cancellation of conventional cross-over night activities on 31st December, 2020 in Enugu State, the state government has clarified that "the said cancellation refers strictly to the cross-over night activities organised by the Enugu State Government". The clarification was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh. A prominent Islamic scholar and retired justice, Ahmed Lemu, has died on Thursday. The retired justice died aged 91 in Minna, Niger State. His death was announced by his son, Nurudeen, on behalf of the family, Punch reports. He said, “It is with sadness and reverence to Allah that we announce the passing away of our father, Dr Justice Sheikh Ahmed Lemu OFR, in the early hours of this morning in Minna.
