President Buhari’s 2020 Christmas Message to Nigerians

I felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters in particular and all Nigerians in general on this joyous occasion of Christmas 2020, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. In Christendom, the Christmas season represents joy, peace, hope, love, goodwill and imminent salvation. These worthy values which Jesus’ Advent symbolize, are very much needed in our country at this time when we are confronted with diverse challenges like a rising spate of armed banditry, kidnappings, insurgency, economic recession and an upsurge of COVID-19 infections. I wish to, therefore, enjoin fellow compatriots to appropriate the hope that comes with Christmas and reinvest trust in this Administration’s determination and unwavering commitment to restore peace, security and prosperity to our dear coun...

PDP Demands Buhari’s Resignation Over Insecurity

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign following the President’s own admission that his administration has failed to secure the nation. In a statement on Saturday, signed by his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, the party chairman said as Commander-In-Chief, the buck stops at the President’s table, adding that he should accept his failure and stop giving excuses. Secondus said rather than the President’s belated lamentations after 67 months in power that he has been unable to perform, he should do the honourable thing by resigning and giving way for fresh ideas and new vitality. The party chair recalled similar call to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013, asking Jonathan to vacate and gi...

President Buhari To Reopen Borders Soon

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, had a closed door meeting with the nation’s 36 state governors on the security challenges across the country. He explained that the closure of the nation’s land borders was partly an attempt to control the smuggling of weapons and drugs. African News Today had earlier reported that state governors did not speak with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.  The Presidency has now issued a statement quoting Buhari as asking the state governors to work more with traditional rulers and community members to improve local intelligence gathering that will aid the work of security agencies. The statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, wa...

The Facts Speak for themselves: You do not have to Speak for them – Reno Omokri to Femi Adesina

Dear Femi: The Facts Speak For Themselves. You Do Not Have to Speak For Them I watched, with considerable amusement, Femi Adesina’s interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, September 17, 2020, wherein Femi said that his boss, General Muhammadu Buhari, inherited a badly divided nation from former President Goodluck Jonathan, and has been working to unite her. Mr Adesina said: “As of 2015, when President Buhari came, Nigeria was terribly, terribly divided; divided along religious lines, divided along ethnic lines; divided along language, divided hopelessly, terribly and that is the division that the President had been working at.” Well, it is true that there are some fault lines in Nigeria, as there are in many other nations, however, it is false to say that Nigeria was badly div...

President Buhari Focused on Nation Building and Unity of Nigeria by Femi Adesina

..this administration remains committed to honouring the promises made to the Nigerian people across the key areas of Security, Economy and fighting Corruption. To state that we live in challenging times is perhaps an understatement and does very little justice in accurately capturing our current realities. Those realities include a world faced with a pandemic the scale of which hasn’t been seen in 100 years. The crisis has crippled economies, destroyed global supply chains and obliterated once productive and viable sectors of the economy. Our dear nation has not been spared in this difficult period and, indeed, has felt the impact of the global crisis. But as a responsive government, the Buhari administration has within limited resources designed responses that are targeted at m...

Opinion: The Financial Costs of General Buhari’s CluelessNess By Reno Omokri

At least three major UK based companies appear set to deliver a fatal blow to Nigeria’s economy due to the cluelessness of General Buhari’s administration. P&ID is already an infamous example of how having an inept leader is about to cause Nigeria to lose almost $10 billion from our foreign reserves, or other foreign assets, simply because Buhari did not set up his cabinet for six months after being sworn in, and left government to his unelected cabal, who were more interested in lining their pockets. Additionally, Buhari erroneously thought the P&ID contract was signed under former President Jonathan. So he dragged his foot and instead approached a US court for a subpoena, which he got, to search for hidden accounts held by Jonathan. Alas, he found n...
