Nuhu Abok Impeached As Plateau Speaker, Assembly Names Sanda As New Speaker

The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Nuhu Abok, has been impeached by eight members of the legislative arm of the government. The member representing Pengana Constituency, Yakubu Sanda, was named as the new Speaker. The member representing Pengana Constituency, Yakubu Sanda, was named as the new Speaker. Insecurity: UNIJOS Suspends Academic Activities, Shuts Hostels

Following the rising spate of insecurity in Jos and its environs, the Management of the University of Jos has suspended all academic activities in the institution till further notice. Mr Monday Danjem, the Registrar of the university, unveiled this development in a statement on Friday in Jos. Information has it that the people of Irigwe were on their way to Bassa for a mass burial after retrieving the corpses of those killed on the 29th July and 9th, August, when trouble started at Rukuba road axis Jos.
